Adelaide Confused Empath Series Book 1 eBook Penny Greenhorn

We meet Adelaide and learn about her, an empath struggling to feel sane while surrounded by people. She's quite anti-social and it completely fits with her personality. She's dragged into a world that she did not knew existed and right in the middle of a mystery to find a magical diary. But who is of the lesser evil? Lars, a power hungry giant in the supernatural world who sends thugs after her, or Reed, a charming, and power hungry giant in the supernatural world who is sorta looking out for her? I really enjoyed Adelaide's interaction with everyone she meets and I think there is more than meets the eye with Lucas, even if he does seem to fall a bit bland. The story is well written and I enjoyed reading it. Compared to other paranormal romances, it's a real easy read with dynamic characters. Everyone has their own personality and no one really got on my nerves. Unlike many books in this genre, the author did not feel the need to weigh down the story with obscenities. There are some, but it is not the third and sixth word out of everyone's mouth.

Adelaide Confused Empath Series Book 1 eBook Penny Greenhorn Reviews

This book was great, kept me wanting to know more and I really want to find out if she ends up with Lucas. More importantly I would like to find out what Lucas is hiding because it really doesn't make sense that she can not feel his emotions like she can everyone else. There just has to be a reason and I really hope I find out. Which would mean there would have to be a book 2
Right from the start, the story drew me in. I loved the whole ghost angle tying in with Adelaide's empathic abilities. The story really moved along with a lot of dry humor and a touch of romance, I could appreciate Adelaide's strong character. I am eager for the next book in the series; I can't wait to see how Adelaide's 'ghost whispering' develops along with her blossoming relationship.
I love the fact that the heroine is a moody bitch. She doesn't take crap from anyone, and this book is set in an interesting world.
The titles of the Emotional Graves Series books do not convey the excitement and action of these books. I greedily devoured both of the available books, and wanted more.

Of course, there are the usual typos, misspellings, and run-on sentences you'd expect in self-published works, but they are minimal.

This author is one to watch.
Wonderful Read. Adelaide doesn't leave you to guess what is on her mind. Each character has a different personality, and it adds to the mystery of what is happening on this island. This is a battle of gifts in order to locate the prize possession. You don't know who to trust, nor what their ability is...even the ghosts have motive. Great read.
At times this story was interesting but at times boring. I skipped through some drivel. Adelaide was a fun character and I liked her attitude but the story itself wasn’t all that thought out and I wondered why the police was never called with all the stuff that was happening.
Adelaide, the empath, goes into hiding in a place where she isn't bombarded with other people's emotions. She learns that she is not the only "gifted" person ... some can see ghosts, some see the future, and some are so irresistibly charming that everyone loves them...This latter person (gift and all) becomes Adelaide's problem following a murder on the island. Reed Wallace, billionaire wants to find the person who killed his employee (and the book the employee was trying to deliver to him when he was killed) and feels that Adelaide's skills can help him. Adelaide, more or less immune to his charms, wants no part of the hunt but gets dragged into it anyway since Reed isn't above using blackmail. But Reed isn't making the job easier and the killer is after her, too.
I found Reed's attitude as confusing as Adelaide did ... he clearly wanted the book, but really did nothing to help her or keep her safe.
The book read well, but ended on a "you must read the sequel!" note, which I tend to dislike.
