I totally loved this story. It's a shorter length read and that was good because I was completely engrossed in the story and was able to read it all at once. This story was everything I love... loads of action, suspense and great "banter" and fun moments between Garrett and Janna (the 2 main characters). Also the supporting cast of characters was great... Just loved the complete package.

Garrett Foster is the pack leader of the Lee County wolves. When Janna shows up at the outskirts of his town with two small children in tow,
he questions them to find out exactly what their reason for being there is. Janna isn't being totally truthful or upfront, and though Garrett knows this, he's willing to wait her out, take in the three newcomers in and see what she has to say when she's ready to say it.

Janna's a small fry but it seems she can hold her own. She's on a mission and determined to see it through. She's confused and lonely, grieving and full of anxiety, but stays strong for herself and the two little cubs she took under her wing along the way.

Garrett's all you could ever hope for in an Alpha leader. He's respected by his wolf pack and family. He thinks quickly and decisively and he is ferociously protective. He's a good, strong leader with a heart.

Outstanding supporting character cast. Garrett's brothers Marcus and Hunter are terrific and I am so hoping Ms. Gabelman will continue this series with stories for each of them. The relationship of the three brothers was great to see. Their antics, their humor, their protective streak of those in need... made my heart melt. I just fell in love with the whole package, the complete scenario.

The elements of danger and suspense just added that special little touch to the story. You get to see Janna being selfless and in her own way protective of those she's come to love. AND you get to see Alpha Garrett in action, protecting what he's come to love.

The story moved along nicely. It was completely what I've come to expect from Teresa Gabelman's books since first reading her VC warriors books. LOVED IT SO MUCH!

It was an alright short story with some touching moments with Sam (6) and his teenage sister Lada who Janna found on her way to find the man her mother protected since she was born. Sam stutters and him and his sister clams up about where their parents are, they are also wolf shifters but they must have seen something terrible happen to their parents. They cling to Janna after only 3 days of knowing each other and little Sam treats Janna as a moth figure. And when Jonah figured out who Janna is to him and his response after the shock.
There are laughs here and their especially with the brothers fighting and water throwing and pond tossing. The danger wasn’t really that big of danger but her mother’s murder, the carvings was avenged.
This is a great start to a new series by Teresa Gableman. I have actually read all 3 in this series, but didn't realize I hadn't written a review for book one. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of these books and suggest them wholeheartedly. If you like Shifters who have close family ties and are totally committed to each other and the wellbeing of the group as a whole....read these books. You'll be on an emotional rollercoaster all the while cheering for all of the characters! (well, the nice, good ones at least!) Teresa shares Vamps from her Protector Series in Lee County so if you've read those, you'll enjoy the crossover. If not, it's no biggie. It will make you want to read that series, too. There isn't a bad book in the batch! I suggest everything she's written! Also, check out Rodeo Romance. -)

I really hate comparing other books authors have written. But after reading the VC warriors and then switching to this book to learn more about the wolves, I just felt disappointed. Not because it doesn't compare to others but the speed of the story and how everything just felt thrown together.

If you read the synopsis of this book, you literally have read the entire book. I hope the other books that follow up with this series aren't so rushed and have more of story line to them.

The Reaping is an ancient, forbidden hunt and someone has started it again. In book one, Forbidden Hunger we are introduced to the Foster Pack of Lee County. This is the first book in Teresa Gabelman’s new series, Lee County Wolves. It delves into good vs. evil and those that would fight and defeat it. Janna and Garrett are fated, true mates and this is their story.

Her dying mother’s last request was for Janna Lawson to find her father and tell him that she died loving him. That she never betrayed his secret. Janna is a hybrid and knows nothing about being a shifter. She needs answers and a safe place for herself and the young ones she is looking after. Is the man she is looking for part of this pack? Will the Foster Pack take them in and protect them or will she have to continue running? The way Garrett Foster is looking at her and the way her wolf is reacting to him, maybe he will let them stay.

He is the alpha and protector of his pack. So when an unknown woman enters his territory with a teen and a young child, he goes into full alpha mode. What pack do they belong to and why does her wolf call to his? His gut is telling him trouble is headed towards his pack and this woman is his! Garrett has never had a problem attracting females, but now he knows why he never kept one of them.

This is an action filled story with humor, sizzling sexual attraction and mysteries that must be solved. Great storyline development and creative approach to shifters and the world they live in. Characters are fashioned in a way that they will entrench themselves into the readers thoughts and remain after the book is finished.
