I really enjoyed this book. The character development is excellent and the personalities are realistic. You can't help being drawn to Devin. At times my heart ached for him, I could feel his emotional pain, and I cheered as I saw him mature in response to the trials he was forced to face. Of course Hammond was another favorite, definitely the guy you want on your "team". The attention to detail is superb, the scene descriptions are vivid without being overwhelming, and the ease of the dialog keeps the pace moving. A great read!
I can't wait for the next one. This unique story was, absolutely spell binding. I couldn't put it down. Fantastic.
I got it because it was free and I used to read a lot of science fiction in my teens. I will likely read the rest of the trilogy because I ended up caring about the characters. Simple summer read. Would recommend to anyone who has even a passing interest in science fiction.
This book really makes one think about where current events are taking our society. It makes one ponder the words of Be nfRanklin Those who desire both freedom and security will have NEITHER!
Also Huxley in 1984 , the movie Blade Runner.
This has been a recurrent theme but EXODUS take sis a step further into WHAT part of our society DOES about it!
I can't wait to ead what comes next!
I want more! This was a really good story and I enjoyed it. It ended too abruptly without my knowing more about the actual exodus. I'm Assuming it was meant to be a cliff hanger but I wanted more and can't wait for the sequel. It read like a movie. Probably will be and I can say I was one of the first readers.
This is a surprisingly good first novel of a promising author. He brings a full set of convincing, real-world experiences to his work. Set in a country (indeed, a world) which has lost its way, the story gets off to an exciting start as soon as the stage is set. The novel's pace is fast and furious, moving from one wonderful battle scene to the next quickly and convincingly. The young hero is surrounded with a small support cast of characters, mostly good but with a few bad apples in the barrel. The mix yields a book you don't want to lay aside until you absolutely have to. And then you can't wait to get back to it.

We are now seeing a new generation of leaders come forth in our post-911 world. These are men and women who have been refined in the fire, both at home and more starkly in Afghanistan and the Middle East. This author, with what he has been through, emerges as one of them. He has "Been There, Done That!"

Mr. Cramer says this is part of a "Foundation Trilogy." You will want to get into this book now, so that you will be on board when the next two become available.
