This is a story of troubled economic times in the United States that ends in total economic collapse and the resulting chaos. The story centers on three people that are strangers to each other but find strength when circumstances throw them together and they try to live their lives in the bleak new world they now have to survive in.
This early story was published under the pen name of Jack Forester. I have gone through this story and found many of the errors and corrected them (no I’m sure I did not find them all!). I have re-written sections and added additional material as I have gone through this early work of mine.
As always in my stories there is no foul language or explicit sex though there is some violence.
My stories are only meant to provide an afternoon or evening of reading enjoyment. If when reading any story you find that an occasional grammatical error spoils your whole experience then you may wish forgo reading this story as I am sure some errors can be found within it despite my best efforts.

Not quite as good as the others I've read, but still good. I will still continue to read this author's books. Recommend.
GREAT BOOK.....It fits with the normal society being dragged kicking and screaming into the new world order
of kill or be killed.....survive by out-thinking an opponent......lot's of great action!!!
GOOD STUFF, TYPICAL THORSEN
Bought all the .99 cent books. Have read three now and enjoyed them in spite so many similarities. JACK no need to go to Jr college for grammar lessons. Just get a third grade grammar book and you will be up to speed.
Jack Forester is an excellent writer. This book is an excellent read. I was engrossed in the story from start to finish. Fans of dystopian fiction will like this very much. Unfortunately, even though it is fiction, the premise could in fact happen.
My only real complaint is that it ended.
I recommend this and a few other stories written by this author.
As he said, they will each provide an afternoon off entertainment.
I liked it.
I only wish his books were less expensive so I could read them all.
but $2.99 is not bad for most people to spend.
For those who enjoy "survival" tales, Jack Forester is one of the best. Great Characters, Great plots, and just plain good old enjoyable reading. Almost makes you wish you were part of his stories. I read most of his books....still goin' at it.
